Geocaching

Through my Master's Program I have discovered the cool activity of geocaching. Bot I cannot wait to get my kids and hubby on an adventure! We will start with something I spotted in town, then venture out to somewhere farther away when we feel like we got it. I love the idea. I think it's creative and allows opportunity to spend with family. Looking forward to our first one this weekend!

  1. Geocaching is such a great family activity. My kids just love it when we come across a "treasure", and they get to look at all the good stuff, and add something of their own. They are always anxious to come back and see if their contribution is still there.

  2. This afternoon, Cameron and I went looking for a geocache that popped up near our school over Christmas. We did not find it, but I was a little freaked out by the location as I am afraid of heights, and we ended up using a freeway overcrossing walkway until I started to feel panicky.

But he was running back and forth, despite the fact that we could hardly even hear each other because of the traffic noise. He's five.

He really enjoys it, and we like introducing friends and family to geocaching whenever we get the chance. I also do geocaching activities with my students and they always love it.

  4. You'll have a great time - fresh air, exercise, and family time. Don't forget to bring a token. Enjoy!

  5. Thanks for the token idea. We failed miserably on our first try. Are these usually buried under bushes or something. Got muddy and wet, but it was still fun to see the kids excited about it. Will give it another try.
